Is this really the best the state of California can do? What a frelling embarrassment! I mean 30 million people, and we send her? How about a lottery next time?
Posted by Kevin Murphy at January 19, 2005 08:20 AM | TrackBackWhen the House was debating term limits in 1995, in keeping with the Contract With America, Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill.) argued against the proposal by claiming one couldn't find qualified congressional representation at random in the phone book.
How he could have come up with that notion, sharing Capitol Hill with the likes of Boxer and numerous others, still boggles the mind.
Posted by: McGehee at January 19, 2005 09:46 AMNo kidding. She's an overpaid, underqualified, bitter-old-liberal pawn.
Her behavior towards Condi (the most successful minority woman in American history at this point) was appalling. Boxer could only hope to be at Condi's level.
We recalled Davis, let's kick out Boxer. She's quite irritating.
Posted by: DeoDuce at January 19, 2005 12:55 PMIn December 1998, after Clinton launched four days of air strikes on Iraq's suspected WMD targets, Boxer enthusiastically backed President Clinton's decision to attack Iraq after he argued that Saddam Hussein was prepared to use chemical, biological and nuclear weapons against the world.
"The president had no choice but to act today," Boxer said in a statement issued by her office. "Anyone who questions the timing of his decision ignores the fact that we committed a month ago to act if [chief U.N. weapons inspector] Richard Butler reported that Saddam was not cooperating. These critics are blinded by political considerations."
Who is "blinded by political considerations" now?
It's one thing to challenge policy positions, it's another to make personal attacks. Boxer went over the line and now claims to be the "victim" of Dr. Rice's responses. What nerve Boxer!
Barbara Boxer demonstrates WHY the rest of the United States refers to California as the "land of fruits and nuts"! She has dishonored the MAJORITY of folks that call California "home".
