That's part of the problem. Another part is the lie that left-liberals generally support personal freedom and right-conservatives oppose. Yet most of the specific personal freedoms they use on the test are freedoms (school choice, guns, etc.) are issues on which conservatives are more likely to be libertarian than liberals are.

Hmmm ... maybe I need to revisit that post, as maybe I'm not very clear what I'm saying. It's not about the test (where I grabbed the basic graphic from), but about how little the LP cares to occupy the political ecology available to it.

The'd rather be pure than elected.

I would argue expanding the blue down some on the left and the red up some on the right, but other than that, it is pretty accurate. (as a former Big L libertarian.)
