"Digital Brown Shirts" ???

Al Gore today:

In an hour-long address punctuated by polite laughter and applause, Gore also accused the Bush administration of working closely "with a network of 'rapid response' digital Brown Shirts who work to pressure reporters and their editors for 'undermining support for our troops."'
I think he means us. It's sad that the Inventor of the Internet suffers so from his own creation.

By the way, why does Gore favor undermining support for our troops?

UPDATE: Wizbang! has more

I agree that he's talking about the blogs...

Now if only Spooky were still around to create a "Digital Brown Shirt" logo...

Of course he doesnt have the balls to come right and call us Nazis, he just says we are some form of off balance fashion victims.

Apparently, in the Gore-niverse anyone who dares express their opinion in opposition to Prince Albert, First Emperor of the Moon, is by definition (gasp!) a Nazi!!!.

I think the last time someone mentioned "brown shirts", Naomi Wolf was getting $1000 an hour tell Prince Albert to start wearing them.

I think Al's auditioning for the role of "crazy aunt in the attic," now that Perot's left the scene.
