Iraqi reaction to hotel bombing

Today's attack on Iraqi civilians by the Islamofascist resistance fighters murdering scum terrorists offers more than a little irony. In Spain, they are upset that the Americans are interfering in sovereign Iraq. In Iraq, however, they are upset the Americans are not interfering enough:

One of the Iraqis [ouside the bombed hoitel], Zaki Mohammad, 31, said of the people behind the attack: ``They have to hang these people as criminals in front of the people in the city of Baghdad.''
Indeed.

But we don't. We simply arrest and intern them, even when we find them with bombs ready to plant. I think Mr. Mohammad has got a point here. Hopefully, when the Iraqis take over, they won't feel bound by what the NY Times might think.

Well call me a pinko, but I don't think we should hang these guys up in a public square. We should give them a nice show trial on Iraqi TV and then a humane execution.

After beating as much intel out of them as we can, of course.

Hanging IS a humane execution by most historical standards.

What is inhumane is caring a whit about folks who snuff out the lives of 30 strangers and maim 100's of others for life.

Remember what "injured" means in a bombing like this: lost limbs and eyes, 3rd degree body burns, brain damage, and other lifelong medical problems in a generally shortened life.

Execution in such circumstances is mostly TO MAKE A POINT. Putting someone to sleep in a closed room doesn't do that, and can lead to other bombings and other victims.
