My problem with Arnold

Slings and Arrows thinks Arnold did OK, and that McClintock did great, but that all true Republicans need to line up behind Arnold and defeat the Cruzmonster.

I understand that -- I realy, really do -- but I think Arnold isn't ready. He might never be ready. It's not just the polcy differences I have (gun control and taxes mainly) -- heck, I have big issues with Tom's anti-gay, anti-abortion stands. I could overlook these things -- "it's the economy, stupid!"

But I think Arnold as Governor would be a failure. He just doesn't have it. I wanted to believe he did, but that sure wasn't Reagan up there tonight.

I actually would prefer to see Davis or Cruz dig a deeper hole over the next 3 years, than see Arnold dig one for the good guys. It's up to Arnold to convince me that this is a baseless fear. So far, he's done the opposite.

p.s. What on earth was that crazy lady doing on the stage? Is she selling a book or something?

I am hoping that Arnold's "performance" turned off a huge number of supporters tonight. I agree that he isn't ready now, and maybe never. I tend to think that Huffington kept baiting him exactly because he rose to the bait. He came off poorly in the exchanges. She didn't do herself any good, but she did serve to show some of his inadequacies.

In my opinion no one won; McClintock did surprisingly well and Bustamante held on, neither winning nor losing. I still haven't a clue who I will vote for on question 2.

I thought Arnold handled Arianna's attacks pretty well. And Arianna was great - a complete loon. It doesn't get any more entertaining than her.
